Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing App Reviews

The game itself looks nice enough, pretty close to the cart game of the traditional rival. Game center seem stuck as it asks for the password again and again without managing to log in. Must choose "cancel" in the end. No retina support, not even for the menus. Much worse: on my retina MacBook Pro, the dock is stuck continually on, overlapping the game showing a frozen cursor. Thats quite too bold for the asking price and no updates since launch, soon a half year.

Everytime when we try to play multiplayer mode via game centre both game exited unexpectedly, cant play at all!

This game is amazing. It installed perfectly, no crashes, and it runs great on my 2013 MacBook Air. The only downside to this would be the loading times, but other than that its the best racing game Ive ever owned, especially since I love Sonic!

This games is very fun to play, and very challenging. Two things that could use some work are the graphics, which are currently in 720p, which is good, but I have a retina macbook, so having an option to play it in 1440p would be amazing! Also, maybe the tutorial should be better, because I didnt even know any of the controls before I started randomly pressing buttons, and figuring it out by myself, which was really annoying, so can you please list the controls during the tutorial? Anyways, this game is absolutely astonishing and cool to play, and I reccommend getting it.

Needs more tracks and wish they would bring back some of the old characters. Also can’t figure out how to get into the ‘buy tracks’ portion of the store using a keyboard. Not very keyboard friendly.

Game crashes on startup, though on other Macs it works fine. Just not my MBP.

this port is totally undeveloped its lagging, forcing you to wait for counteless minutes staring at loaging screen. I want my money back.

So the game it self its pretty fun, it the sony equivalent of mario kart, plus its offer local play. The only problem its that the loading time are horrible. On my ssd equip retina macbook pro 15, loading times between races whould take any where from 20 to 40+ seconds, i dont know whever its a problem with the original game code or this port version but i would appriciate it if feral or sega manage to reduce the times to a more resonable time on a future update (maybe wait for a fix but dont buy hopping ill get fix quickly). For retina howners it also lack any res above 1440x900, so no retina res support ( not surprising considering this is a port of a 2010 game ).

I bought the game already for my Xbox 360 and I love this game. Great mechanics, quality of mario kart wii or higher in my opinion. The loading times can get a bit long sometimes, but its a good game. I recommend buying it. Its worth the money. Its not the Sony equivalent of Mario Kart, its the SEGA equivalent and sega answered with a pretty good game.

This game was not reegineered for the mac. it is simply a console game, not worth the cost or the the time to load, an insult to apple and the mac . . . and any game that has to scream their name at me while taking forever to load . . . really is that what i am waiting for your stupid logos to load?

Ive only played for a little bit, but I havent experienced any crashing. The loading times can be really long, but there were also some short loading times. Sure, It could use a patch. Honestly, its really a fun game. Im a huge Sonic fan, but the game is great for a racing game as well. I would say just as good as Mario Kart and easily my favorite racing game on Mac!

I love this game. The only problem is that the loading screens are too long. I have this game on my PS3 and Im so happy now that I can play it on my MacBook Pro, too. SEGA, if youre reading this review, kudos to you for making such a great game!

It’s nice to see that we’re getting Sonic games here in he Mac App store. This is a great racing game featuring most of the well known SEGA characters and levels. The visuals are great and so is the gameplay although the only minor thing that might be an annoyance to some is the kind of slow loading times for races. Other than that, I definitely recommend this game! Go on, buy it!
